It's Official: Kasey Keller to Sounders FC

The Seattle PI is reporting that it will, indeed, be former US National Team Goalkeeper, and Lacey native, Kasey Keller who will be announced at a 2p Press Conference on Tuesday.

Keller joins Sebastien LeToux as the signed players for Sounders FC.

Sounders FC Announce TV Deal

Today, the Seattle Sounders FC announced a Broadcast Deal that all [non-nationally broadcast] games will be televised on KONG-6 and KING-5.

Former "Voice of the Sonics", Kevin Calabro was also announced as the club's Play-by-Play announcer.

Get Your Sounders FC Merchandise

There has been some Sounders FC gear available at MLSgear.com, but if you're ready to buy some apparel, get ready for saturday. The Front Office has announced that merchandise, such as caps and T-shirts, will be available at the Qwest Field Team Shop during the Brazil-Canada match on saturday.

The Xbox 360 Deal

The big news of course is the "Xbox 360 Live" logo on the front of the kit. Microsoft will be paying $4m a year for 5 years.

Xbox 360 will also...

  • Sponsor an annual Sounders FC international tour
  • The playing surface at Qwest Field will be dubbed, "The Xbox Pitch at Qwest Field"
  • Be recognized as the "official and exclusive video game console of Major League Soccer."

Drew Carey in Town for a SoundersFC Event

Seattle Sounders owner Drew Carey will be in town this Friday, May 16 for a Sounders FC event. It will take place at Kells Irish Restaruant & Pub (1916 Post Alley) and will begin at 4:00 PM.


Drew, who also serves as Chairman of the Members Association, will discuss Sounders FC Member benefits, voting procedures, and introduce the Members Association Council which will give Members an opportunity to get more involved in club affairs.

More on LeToux

Following up yesterday's announcement about Sounders FC signing Sebastien LeToux as their first player, here is some background information on the Frenchman.

Position: Forward
Height: 6-0
Weight: 155
Birthplace: Rennes, France
DOB: January 10, 1984

Before playing for the Sounders (USL), Sebastien played for FC Lorient (2004-06) in the French League 2. He was with Stade Renais FC in the French First Division from 2001-04 but never saw the pitch on GameDay.

Sounders FC Using Technology to Connect Fans

There is an article on SoundersFC.com about using Technology to bring fans together.

One example is the team's Facebook Group- 1,000,000 Seattle Sounders FC Fans. Another is trying to organize where all of the Emerald City Supporters are going to sit behind the goal on the south end of Qwest Field.

Also, the Season Ticket Holders are entering their preferences on singing, standing, participation in organized soccer on the Ticket Registration Form so like-minded fans can sit together.

Sounders FC Season Ticket Information Released

The Sounders FC Front Office has released the pricing information for the 2009 Season Tickets at Qwest Field.

Prices for the season tickets start at $288. Season ticket prices per match are $16, $20, $24, $29 and $35.

How's it going to work?

The team has created a unique site to help fans find their ideal seat location based on personal interests such as group affiliations, teammates from the soccer leagues they play in, or the desire to sing, chant and stand during matches.


1st Benefit of Sounders FC Season Ticket Holders

OK, maybe it is the 2nd. Anyways, as you know Brazil will be playing Canada on May 31st at Qwest Field.

Sounders FC Season Ticket Holders will have an advance opportunity to purchase tickets before they go on sale to the general public on Monday the 5th.

Seattle Getting Ready for Sounders FC

56,000 people were in attendance at the China-Mexico game last night at Qwest Field. What's next? A possible Brazil-Canada game in June according to the Seattle Times.

At the Mexico-China game, one could see the promotion of Sounders FC- The new logo was all around the stadium, the logo was flanking the scoreboards, throughout the concourses, and Ticket Information booths.

Seattle definitely supports its soccer and is excited for Sounders FC.
