It looks like former University of Portland star, Nate Jaqua, is heading back to the MLS to the Houston Dynamo from his stint at SCR Altach. Then, "the forward would then be traded to Seattle FC for the 2009 season under an agreement with the expansion franchise..." according to The Houston Chronicle.

Season Deposit Conversions has been going on for nearly 2 months now. So how are Sounders FC doing? So far about 17,000 Season Tickets have been purchased. This means that only about 7,000 tickets per game will be available per game to non Season Ticket holders (based on the current 24,500 capacity without opening the Hawk’s Nest).

The Xbox 360 Deal- Part II

Some more details on the Seattle Sounders FC partnership with Microsoft's Xbox 360 have been glossed over.

As we mentioned earlier there are 4 parts to the sponsorship:

Logo appearing front and center on the Seattle Sounders FC kit
Sponsorship of an international tour for the Sounders FC
Naming of the "Xbox360 Pitch at Qwest Field"
Naming Xbox 360 "the official and exclusive video game console of Major League Soccer"

Now to go into deeper research on the final point there...

The sponsorship gives Xbox 360 the right to use MLS league and team marks along with logos and marketing assets at league and select team events such as the Pepsi MLS All-Star Game and MLS Cup.
The agreement includes player appearances, intellectual property, title nights, website presence, in-stadium exposure - including Xbox 360 fieldboards to be displayed at every MLS game.
Xbox 360 also will be a sponsor of MLS grassroots and community initiatives including MLS Futbolito, the League’s official 4-v-4 soccer tournament.

The Wall Street Journal has announced the new Kit Sponsor for the Seattle Sounders FC. The new uniform and the sponsor has been planned to be announced today at 11:30 at Qwest Field, but the WSJ jumped the gun.

The local company will pay $4m a year for 5 years.

Drew Carey showed up and began on-time at Kells today to give out the details of the Sounders FC Membership Association of which he is the chairperson.

The quick details:

All Season Ticket Holders are members of the association. Everyone who wants to be a member, will have to pay $125
The GM is up for election every 4 years, but if 20% of the Membership asks for a recall every year, a vote will be taken
50% +1 will vote out the GM (and only the GM) ... The Front Office hires, the Membership Fires
There will be a Membership Council- Any member will participate in the Quarterly Meetings if 25 other members sponsor them.
Members will have voting rights, discounts at the Team Store and Local establishments among other things including a newsletter.

Seattle Sounders owner Drew Carey will be in town this Friday, May 16 for a Sounders FC event. It will take place at Kells Irish Restaruant & Pub (1916 Post Alley) and will begin at 4:00 PM.

Following up yesterday's announcement about Sounders FC signing Sebastien LeToux as their first player, here is some background information on the Frenchman.

Position: Forward
Height: 6-0
Weight: 155
Birthplace: Rennes, France
DOB: January 10, 1984

Before playing for the Sounders (USL), Sebastien played for FC Lorient (2004-06) in the French League 2. He was with Stade Renais FC in the French First Division from 2001-04 but never saw the pitch on GameDay.

Sounders FC Sign First Player- Sebastien LeToux

The speculation has been around, but it's now official- Sebastien LeToux is the first player to be signed by Sounders FC.

He will be on loan to the Sounders (USL) for this season.

Welcome Sebastien!

In 2007, his rookie season with the Sounders, Le Toux led the team in scoring with 22 points and was named the USL First Division MVP. He also scored five goals in the U.S. Open Cup, leading Seattle to the semifinals with two wins over MLS teams along the way.

Sounder Blue (Pantone 647C) A reference to Puget Sound and the water that surrounds Seattle, which helps define its citizens.Blue signifies stability, strength and loyalty.

Rave Green (Pantone 370C) Merriam-Webster Definition: rave (adj): c: to talk with extreme enthusiasm Green is a reference to the forests of the Pacific Northwest. It also represents the passionate, optimistic spirit of the community.

Cascade Shale (Pantone 433C) Cascade is a reference to the spectacular range of mountains on Seattle’s eastern horizon.
